Opioid Bust in Major NJ Hotspots
Ask any current or former opioid user in New Jersey where one could find the best dope. The response will universally include Camden, Trenton, or Paterson. Well, as part of a months-long probe into these hotspots, New Jersey authorities seized a hefty inventory of heroin and fentanyl in both Trenton and Paterson. Camden, we’re coming for you next.
New Jersey Attorney General Gubir Grewel announced in a press conference that law enforcement confiscated nearly 40,000 doses of heroin and fentanyl. As we have visited previously, drug dealers are lacing their opioids with fentanyl and leaving a deadly wake behind them.
In the early stages of the investigation, reports state that the opioids supposedly belong to a Blood-affilated gang that runs 2-3 opioid mills in the two cities. 38 individuals, including a founding member of the gang, have been arrested for the involvement with the bust.
Have a day, New Jersey! Over the last few months, New Jersey and other nearby metropolitan hubs have taken action to address the opioid epidemic running through the US. In a joint effort between federal, state and local authorities, preventative and proactive response plans are providing hope that the opioid crisis is not an unstoppable force.
More still needs to be done, but this was a much needed win for the good guys.
